Genetic diversity at the stress regulatory gene Luman/CREB3 of Yorkshire and Meishan pigs

چکیده
A candidate-gene high density SNP scanning approach was used to investigate the swine LUMAN/CREB3 locus for polymorphisms in 232 Ontario Yorkshire and 29 Chinese Meishan pigs. Inter- intra-breed differences genetic diversity were characterized. In breed, eight variations (three coding five non-coding) identified. Two LD blocks (550bp ~4kb length) featuring two three haplotypes, respectively, reconstructed. six (two four one block (~3kb with haplotypes detected. This investigation may provide insight into variable stress-responsiveness among

Transcriptome Analysis Revealed the Embryo-Induced Gene Expression Patterns in the Endometrium from Meishan and Yorkshire Pigs
The expression patterns in Meishan- and Yorkshire-derived endometrium during early (gestational day 15) and mid-gestation (gestational days 26 and 50) were investigated, respectively. Totally, 689 and 1649 annotated genes were identified to be differentially expressed in Meishan and Yorkshire endometrium during the three gestational stages, respectively. Hierarchical clustering analysis identif...
متن کاملComparative digestibility of energy and nutrients in fibrous feed ingredients fed to Meishan and Yorkshire pigs.
The objective of this experiment was to test the hypothesis that differences in the digestibility of total dietary fiber among breeds of pigs is influenced by the type of fiber fed and also by the age of the pig. Five Meishan pigs (BW: 77.2 ± 15.2 kg; 5 mo old), 5 light Yorkshire pigs (BW: 80.1 ± 11.2 kg; 4 mo old), and 5 heavy Yorkshire pigs (BW: 102.1 ± 3.5 kg, 5 mo old) were surgically prepa...
متن کاملProteomic Analysis of Fetal Ovary Reveals That Ovarian Developmental Potential Is Greater in Meishan Pigs than in Yorkshire Pigs
Time-dependent expression of functional proteins in fetal ovaries is important to understand the developmental process of the ovary. This study was carried out to enhance our understanding of the developmental process of porcine fetal ovaries and to better address the differences in fetal ovary development of local and foreign pigs. The objective of the present study is to test the expression o...
متن کاملThe impact of either a Meishan or Yorkshire uterus on Meishan or Yorkshire fetal and placental development to days 70, 90, and 110 of gestation.
Straightbred Yorkshire (Y) conceptuses are larger than straightbred Meishan (M) conceptuses throughout gestation and at farrowing. In contrast, when Y and M conceptuses were gestated together in Y recipient females, the birth weight of M pigs was similar to that of their Y littermates. Even though placentae of M pigs remained markedly smaller than placentae of Y littermates, they were significa...
